Everyone calls “him” Archie! But why assume this is a male – perhaps it’s all the crusty barnacles!
It’s feeding time here in Redondo Beach, CA. We’re “hosting” about 10 whales in our bay along with the Bottlenose and California Common Dolphin. It’s pretty exciting paddling out on our SUPs. In our search we look for signs – large flocks of birds as well as the splash of the whales breaching in the distance, and sometimes a large fluke. It is amazing to be out in the ocean with these creatures it is like being in a live edition of National Geographic.
My friend took these photos—-I’m hoping for a GoPro so I can record my adventures.
